It has been four months since my last post… I have been very
busy with family events, travel to many beautiful spots and lastly – art events..

Last week I have received the fabulous Compendium book
(images above) published by
Uppercase magazine’s Janine Vangool. I have mentioned this
magazine and its talented editor/publisher before. I had a few mentions in the
magazine previously, but this time my artwork was chosen to be on the dust
jacket of the book, together with 3 other artists’ designs. Whoever buys the
book can choose what design they want on the dust jacket and flip it to change
the look any time. A very cool idea!
The
book has photos and articles about 66 artists from around the world, and I am
honored to be one of them! This book is very inspirational and as always
beautifully designed! It would be a wonderful gift for yourself or anyone
interested in design, art, craft and just beautiful books.
I also have a few of my sketches included in another
publication – Cloth Paper Scissors’ Coloring book -Sketchbook . This magazine
includes hand drawn sketches of several themes (like travel, nature, people,
etc) created by several mixed media
artists such as Jenn Mason, Julie Fei-Fan Balzer, Seth Apter, Jodi Ohl, Melanie
Testa and myself to name a few. There are also some informative articles about
coloring techniques.
And lastly - In the beginning of next year I am planning to
offer a large new set of thermofax screens to be used on paper and fabrics.
They are a wonderful tool for any textile, paper or mixed media artist. Stay
tuned for that.
I have recently participated in 3 annual holiday art sales
here in Northern California. I enjoy these very much because it is a great opportunity
to chat with like minded folks as well as work on some new pieces for the occasion.
I have also taught a couple of workshops and I
have visited some wonderful artists’ studios during a trip to New Mexico:
One was
Gail and Zachariah Rieke’s and the
other was
Melinda Tidwell’s. I LOVE their art and since I was visiting the
area
I just had to see them in their
element. All three are very nice people as well.
