Color in my art

Michelle Ward is asking if we, the artists, notice a change in the colors of our art when the seasons change.
The only difference I notice is in the amount of art that I create. My artwork is always very colorful, and my palette is always bright. The longer days of summer allow me to create more than what I do during the winter months. I prefer working in natural light so I produce much less during that dark time..  But I "flourish" when spring comes, and no matter what the season, I always use my happy colors.

Dorit - I always love seeing your vibrant palette. You are much more daring with color than I could ever be. I love your observation that your go-to colors don't change with the season BUT that your productivity is amped up in summer. Light and energy makes for lots of output? Yay! Here's to it being THAT time of year! Thanks for sharing with the team!

Dorit - I love your colors and seeing a variety of vibrant, colorful pages. I love color, too, so I like seeing someone else's colors! Happy Summer - glad you find journaling fun this time of year.

I prefer to work in natural light as well - especially when I am using paints. In summer, I switch over to watercolours eventhough I really don't know how to use them! :-)

Love to see your "happy colors" - they really are happy! Unlike you, I'm used to working in a basement because that's where all the supplies and workspace were, but I'm looking forward to working in a 3rd floor room in my new place now.

Yes you do, always use happy and happy-making bright colors. I am more moody or cyclical, but I don't think it has to do with the seasons, perhaps my internal ones. It's an interesting question. The seasons influence us all somehow, no doubt about it.

I agree - those *are* happy colours. It's interesting that you love the natural light. I'm more inclined to hide from it... Glad the spring an summer make you happy.

Your work is amazing, I love your style and I love the colours you use - I am a little timid when it comes to bright colours so I really admire it when people have the "courage" to use them.

These are indeed happy colours, not loud and showy but quite sophisticated and serene. Lovely pages.

Dorit--those vibrant colors and the color strip defining them are brilliant--in every way. I love visiting your blog, it's always a delight for the eye. This rich palette is wonderful for summer's bright flowers.
