Where in the World?

Wow, it's been a while since I last posted! I blame only myself and I have plenty of excuses but the end result won't change.. so..here I am.
I am responding to Michelle Ward's challenge on her blog (http://michelleward.typepad.com/how_cool_is_that/), on the subject of "where in the world" we are. I have two responding pages in my art journal in the following pictures.
My "real" current address is in Northern California, but I live in a neighborhood where all the streets have bird names, and we nicknamed the area "Birdland". That's just perfect for me. I love birds and have been using bird images in my artwork a lot!
I love challenges like this one, and I hope to play in more of those in the coming year. That's one of my New Year's resolutions.

Dorit - glad to have you join the crusade! It's a great way to learn more about our regular and new team players, and the ulterior motive is to keep everyone blogging *wink*. Great journal pages!! Thanks for playing!

Dorit,
Birdland sounds like a fun neighborhood. When I lived in Mill Valley, all the streets in my neighborhood were flowers...also delightful. Now I live in an area where all the streets are the names of cacti...not quite as special, at least not for me...do love my neighborhood though! Your journal pages are fabulous. I look forward to seeing more of your art.

Wow - your journal pages are real artworks in themselves. The colours are divine. Ever seen the film 'The Birds'? If you haven't, don't, it might put you off Birdland for ever...

When I saw your wonderful journal page I thought "birdland" was a fantasy place! The town where I gre up named evertything after other countries so I was in the Australaian section of town bordered by the Canadian area - very odd. I prefer bird names. Love the ticket houses - may have to borrow that idea....
