An Irresistible technique

Responding to Michelle Ward's challenge of this rubbing/resist technique I am posting some of my past collage work that was done using papers with the resist technique: The 2 pictures show collages made with different kinds of papers including some with wax resist. The butterfly was made with glue resist and stitching and the hand rubbing was made on top of more background rubbing with a different color.
The resist is one of my favorite ways to get texture on paper.

Dorit - thanks for coming back to play with us! These pieces are terrific - love seeing the clickable close-ups. Glue! I forgot how fun it is to use gloue for resist! The stitching on that piece really makes for some yummy textures.

I absolutely love what you've done with your resist papers. The tribal quality of your compositions remind me of the artwork that I've seen when I've traveled to central america. Thanks for sharing these. You've inspired me to play -- as soon as I leave the office.

These are so complete. Breathtaking composition and color. I had never thought of using the texture papers from rubbings as cut up elements for collage. They create such elegant depth. And yet MORE inspiration from the Crusaders. Thank you.

Gasp! These are wonderful. They combine two of my favorite techniques -- cut paper and wax resist. Your pieces remind me of Eric Carle's use of hand-colored papers in his illustrations. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous work.
